Wave 2 COVID-19 Drive

One of the first initiatives of The Yog Friends Foundation (TYFF) was a collaboration with Satva Charitable Sanstha. The second pandemic wave was at its peak, and a shortage of oximeters and masks was felt in the underprivileged areas. To address this, TYFF organized a distribution drive under the direct supervision of Satva’s founder, Dr. Rakesh Gupta. Members of Satva distributed Medical kits comprising of masks, multi-vitamins and oximeters to Covid-19 patients. In addition, the foundation also facilitated the distribution of masks and medicines to the healthcare workers at Mumbadevi Homeopathic Hospital. As the healthcare staff at the hospital was in direct contact with Covid-10 patients, emphasis was given to the distribution of multi-vitamins which would boost the immune system of the staff.

TYFF is now in the process of adopting certain poverty stricken areas in Mumbai where we will conduct regular medical camps and also distribute the required medicines.

TYFF and Punarvas Alliance

The Punarvas Special School and Vocational Training Centre is placed in a 1550 sq. mtr constructed area in Goregaon West. Punarvas school caters to around 180 students and was founded in 1981 with the intent of habilitation and development of mentally challenged children. The children range from 3 years old and upwards and are divided into three Units : Early Intervention Unit – 3 to 6 yrs, School Unit – 6 to 18 yrs , Vocational Unit -Above 18 years Since the Government aid to Punarvas is very limited , TYFF has stepped in to sponsor the annual expenses of 40 students at the school. In addition, TYFF has comitted to provide assistance on a continuous basis to the families of some of these students in the form of groceries and other essentials , thereby contributing to the all round development and welfare of the children. TYFF also intends to extend support in organizing annual School events , field trips, and other welfare activities to name a few. This endeavour is aligned with our vision of access to quality education for children who are differently abled and from improverished communities.
